Squeaking noise from Flexalite fan
Today I started getting a squeaking sound from the driver side flexalite fan. Anyone else ever had this happen to thier fans? Are there bearings in there? Can I spray WD-40 in there to stop it? It sounds like a bird is inside the fan going crazy!!!
At first it was only when the fans came on or went off, but later on tonight it was constant all the time.
Will WD-40 help it? It won't short out the fans will it? Somebody tell me what to do here.
The fans have been installed for about two weeks.

From your description it certainly sounds like a bearing going bad in the fan. WD40 won't hurt anything but it will only stop the noise for a very short time if it really is the bearing going out. The only alternative you have if the bearing is bad is to replace the fan motor. If it's still under warranty you probably could take the whole fan back for replacement.

The Fans Are Held On By...
... a set screw on a flat sided shaft. Try loosening the screw and pushing the fan out a tint bit and run it. If that fails try the same but push it on more. I did this on my last truck. One sqweaked a short while after the install and never came back.
