Squeel when turning left? 00 GMC 5.3
When I turn left in my truck it really squeels loud, When I turn right it's silent. It sounds like the PS pump but I really don't want to replace it if that is not it. Any suggestions?

does your truck have rack and pinion front steering, if not the most likely cause of that would be a steering gear, if it was the pump, it would squeal in both directions, the pump doesnt have anything to do with which way you turn it, but the gear does, does it bind at all in ay direction. seen a few of these go bad

It's got a rack (I think) and no, it does not bind anywhere.

Same thing happened to my Tahoe. I took it to the dealer, and he said something about the break pad rubbing on something, but that nothing was mechanically wrong. He told me to take it in again before waranty ends so they can check my bearings.... freaking dealer....
