Sometimes I REALLY wish I had the 4L80E because I wouldn't be afraid to go all out on the motor, but no matter what you do to the 2500 it still isn't an SS I am glad that I have my SS overall. AWD rocks!

i'd go with a VHO or SS. the 2500 standard series would be my next choice. the HD is big and strong, but too heavy and to high of a paristic drag from the drivetrain.

I chose the HD for the long term strength of its parts, period.
There are pluses and minuses for both.
For me, and the way I'm wired, the 2500HD was the right choice.

As far as looks go, straight out of the box the SS is the best looking, however, after a nice set of wheels and tires, IMO, it's a toss up.

As far as weight goes, don't let the SS guys fool ya, their truck is heavy too, mine clocks in at 5450, thats either = to or just slightly more than an SS.

I have the 1500HD CC or the 2500 LD is the same I think and mine crosses the scales at 6050 with me in it. I do like the CC though it is a heavy *** machine.

Have you thought about looking at a Joe Gibbs? If you bargin right you can get a regular cab 5.3 for around 35 to 36 thousand. I had mine run on the dyno and came up with 343 rwh and 365 rwt right out of the box.

you certainly took care of the looks issue with them wheels. your truck is awsome looking with them wheels compared to a standard HD. as for weight comparison though, a 4wd version of your truck would be considerably heavier. it is however, very damn beefy...
