Yea I was honestly thinking $160 seems fair. I personaly can buy 10' of 3" for $37.xx I don't need more then 8 foot and some of there time.
Maybe an hour labor and $40 for the pipe is what I figure they should charge. Well the lost the sale, if the going price is $200-$250 around here then I guess I will not get it done.

Honestly the best thing for us gear heads is invest in a chop saw and a welder. With a few mandrel bends and a 8' length of straight pipe you can do your own exhaust and change it whenever you want. The last time I changed my exhaust it cost me $15, have also done exhaust for a few guys and the $ has almost paid for the welder and chop saw.

I almost punched this last ************! He actually quoted me $350!?!?!?!?!?! Holly ******* ****! $40 in pipe and $100 dollars and hour for 3 hours labor!?!?! Where the hell do these crazy bastards come up with this ****!
Well I will be ordering a U/J bend from Summit and have it here tomorrow. I will also buy the 10" stick of 3" pipe and be welding this my self.
Has anyone found anything to coat the welds with so they don't rust to hell in a year.

I brought 2 super 44's to my local shop with the headers allready installed on my K5. They supplied the the 2 1/2" pipe, and the labor. They did a true dual setup for me with rear side exits. I walked out $475 poorer. I was a little surprised too. But I guess they do it to make money, not to make friends.

Try using house calk to coat the welds, that should work.

I thought u were jokin on pop cans & hose clamps. Guess not.
If a person can weld, that's just a wise idea. Doin a job for others pays for your tools & machine.
TXSZ66, u got me laughin out loud, Seriously!
So u are lopping off the muffler altogether? To save weight?
