Have you checked your plugs ??
How they look ??
What plugs you running ??
I have seen pinging with Plat plugs as the tip remains hot and causes pre-ingition.

I went ahead and put the 99 timing tables back in earlier. Still fricking does it. I dont get it, maybe the resistors are causing problems. If I change out my PCM for say a 2001+ PCM I can send my Edit cables back to have them updated. But what do I do about my VIN matching up? If I get a 2002 PCM and put it in my truck will I have to do anything besides that VATS re-learn? Are the PCM's expensive?
LS1csherm,
Im running NGK TR55's. They look as good as they did when I put them in a month ago.

Are you referring to the audible low rpm, loaded valvetrain chatter? Mine has doen it since brand new, and most of the ones I have seen do, too. Some are quieter than others.
Following Bob Prims method I found on Pacific Audio way back when I bought mine, I did the foam mod in the steering boot
I will spare the explanation of the mod to save myself from ridicule
If that is it, it is nothing but valvetrain noise from low rpm load.
