Default Still struggling with Stall decision...

I checked my brake stall tonight: 1900rpm.

I had pretty much decided on the TB stall as everyone said it would be around 2500rpm and still feel more like stock. But to me, going from 1900 to 2500 just doesn't seem like enough rpm to really make much of a power difference off the line.

Now I'm thinking again about a 3000rpm stall. Do all of the 3000 stalls "brake stall" at 3000rpm? Are some higher or lower even though they're called 3000?

Such a tough decision, makes me want to

(Kidding of course... )

If you want to keep perfect street manners, stick with the TB stall. With my Radix, I'm cutting 1.7 60" times. N/A I could get just under 2.0. Stock I'd have about 2.2.

The yank 3000 will brake stall to 2800+, but should flash up to about 3000. Thats going to also depend on weight and power. I hear good things about the PI vigilante 2800 and everyone says that it stalls more like a 3000+. Stay away from the smaller diameter Yank 3200, it will be very loose behind your tank.

My TT3000,brake stalled to exactly 3000rpm behind a 5.3 with headers and bolt-ons.When I added my Radix setup it brake stalled to 3200rpm.The truck drove like it had a stock converter under light throttle application. The harder you drove the more apparent the converter became. The only down side to the converter was a tendency to roll backwards at idle on a steep grade.I got used to keeping my foot on the brake idling on steep hills. In my oppinion a Yank TT3000 may be the best bang for the buck performance item you can buy for a NBS Silverado or SUV.

THAT is what I was really wondering. If it feels close to stock under light/normal driving, I think I'd be fine with it. My SS Camaro with a 3200 actually felt quite normal under lighter throttle. So if a TT3000 is similar, that should be good with me.

Big Tex - Looks like your saying a gain of about .2 would be expected in the 60 foot with a TB stall. I wonder if the TT3000 would equate to .4 gain over stock? That's quite a bit if that is real world. I see the clame is .5 so that may be pretty accurate.

Good info!

I've been following these t/c and stall threads, maybe a soon-to-do mod...

I know it's been asked, but once more for the record (!!), how would towing, say, 6k lbs, be with a TB t/c, or even a 3000 stall t/c ??

Thanks.

Yank's TT3000 is rated at the truck's full towing capacity,unlike a TCI or a 9 1/2"Vigilante.

So get this- I was out tonight, wanted to see where I'm stalling now... 2500 exactly, everytime (three times over 30~45minutes). I let it flash with no brakes, jumped to 2300~2400 then instantly barks them then goes.

Why's my **** stalling so high for stock ?!!? Damnnn......
