I was just wondering if anyone knew what the stock liter per hour output was on the stock 2004 SS fuel pumps is, because vortech said they aren't upgrading the pumps in the 2004 SS kit. thanks

I cant answer that question directly, so I'll give you the answer to another question.
Whats different between the 03 and 04 fuel system?
The 2003 and earlier model trucks had the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail up front. This was a return system where the regulator would bleed off extra fuel above 58psi and send it back through the return line to the tank. In 2004 GM switched the fuel pressure regulator to the gas tank. This allows the fuel to dump right back into the tank without needing a return line from the front of the vehicle.
Why is this significant? Returnless fuel systems will have a different PCM fueling program to take into account for the fluctuating fuel pressures that don't happen on the old style system. Also, those aftermarket FMU kits, which over pressurize the fuel system to add additional fuel, won't work the same on the new models - no return lines.
