Kurt - When are you gonna make a 4L80E conversion for the Silverado SS? I know your shop is capable.

Ive still got some tuning issues because I havent got a wideband yet, and my fuel pump took a crap. But my best so far is 13.5 @ 96 MPH with a 1.92 60'

I know Ive left a lot of power on the table with my tuning and fuel issues but that will change soon with the new pump, roller rockers, and long tubes about to go on. And then really dial it in with a wideband.

Honestly, I didnt feel a difference at all with the fans, I felt a difference when I had them on my 2000 but didnt feel it on this truck.

The blow off valve didnt give me any performance, but it does make a lot of noise. It scares the **** out of people when they hear this loud blow off valve coming from this big truck.

The 4L80 conversion will take a little bit of work, but it shouldnt be too bad. Someone is gonna have to make either a custom output shaft for the trans or a custom input shaft for the t-case. I wouldnt mind doing something like that when it comes time for me to do my trans.

Yeah, it'd be nice if a shop did the R&D on the 80e conversion though.

I think it would be best to keep the output shaft of the 80E since it's probably bigger and redo the input of the transfer case.

Ok, sorry, I'm done hijacking this thread.

I have not broke the 4L65 yet! Left the line at 15psi yesterday and it seemed like something should have broke! It seems to spin the front tires worse than the rears but its still moving out for such a heavy truck. Can't wait till the track opens to get some time slips.

Hmmm....your kit must not be putting out enough power. It's just matter of time before it lets go, will you put a 80e in there when the 65 quits?

15psi....I bet that felt good.

Good stuff.

Kurt - I'm getting a few confusing reports on your turbo SS. Is it a stock internal LQ9 with 10:1 compression? At one point, I read that it was stock (but maybe that was your first one?), then I heard it has a built motor. Just curious.

Oh yeah, get on that custom 80E shaft project real soon. Then if your 65E does let go, you'll be ready.

I agree, It would be better to stick with the bigger spline count that the bigger tranny provides.

1. I think I need more power also!
2. I hope the trans holds.....
3. If my red truck breaks it may get a 80e
4. 15 psi was real nice.....20 would be better!

Tex, I get confused all the time and i'm here!
Currently:
Black truck has been retired, it has lq4 stock engine currently.
Blue truck is customers, it has 402 ci forged crank rods pistons.(this is the one I did the 15 psi launch in)
Red truck is my work truck, it currently has a stock 4.8 in it with a 67mm turbo. On the engine dyno this engine made 500+ hp and 600 ft lbs but I was nervous. I have a forged internals 3.625 stroke 4.010 bore motor for my red truck that will go in this spring. On the engine dyno this has made 730 hp 900 ftlbs but boost was at peak at 3500rpm(19.1) and then fell off at 5500rpm(13.2). This was the result of running the turbo way out of its map. Its just so easy to keep turning the ****! I am waiting for a 76mm turbo for this engine.
Kurt
