Default Straight Exhaust

Hey guys, I see alot of diffrent exhaust combinations on here. Personally I like the sound of a straight-custom exhaust. I manufactured mine, myself, and am very pleased with the sound!! I was just wondering....am I the only person to use a non-muffler exhaust?

I have a non muffler exhaust when my cut-outs are open and I lover the way its osunds. I had straight exhaust with an x-pipe exiting out the rear at 45* angles but I hated it, it sounded too redneck for me and when outside the truck it sounded like a damn bubble machine.

At first mine sounded redneck, and bubbly.....but after a couple of attempts in my shop, I made a great system.

I have High-Flow Cats on my stock y-pipe into 1 3inch tube that runs about 2.5 to 3 feet. Then I built a 3inch inlet/2 1/4 outlet custom Y pipe. The Y runs dual 2 1/4 pipes into 4 inch tips. Sounds great!!

My first exhaust system on my truck was true duals with straight pipes and 4 in. tips. I had the muffler shop cut the y-pipe after the cats and run two 2.25 in. pipes out the back @ 45 degree angles. I have since put mufflers on it cuz I lost my lowend being it was on a stock motor. I really miss that sound though; it was mean as hell. I agree with it being redneck sounding; but I guess I am a little bit of a redneck.

I started out by removing the cats also.....BAD idea! Terrible sound.....really foul....and a large lack of power. So, re-installed some new High-Flow Cats and works alot better.

Yeah I've heard a few with true straight pipes; that's why I left the cats on. How good does that setup work with the high flow cats and the x-pipe?

IMO it works pretty good but I decided to ditch the cats and put mufflers on it. Performs better that way and through the cutouts its loud but not poppy like it was through the rear exit exhaust tips.
