Default STS or ATI?

I am taking a drivers position on Saturday for UPS, and I am going to save up for a power adder. I love the STS turbo kit but I am going to be running a larger cam 215/220 .600/.539 114.5 lobe, and I figured that I would have to upgrade the turbo for a larger one (also I would like to run 15 pounds of boost). Then you have to buy everything seperate like gauges, fuel pump, etc and the alchol fuel injection, at the end it would add up to over 5000 dollars. Then I could go with the ATI procharger D series (larger one that runs more boost) I have been in one with this system and they seem awesome. It would also be alot easier to tune. There is a 4.8 in Springfield that is putting out 350 rwhp with the smaller procharger. I would like to make my 5.3 put out 440-450 rwhp with the cam, headers, and procharger. However, the sound of the STS kit is unbelieveable, my goal with a new rearend built up trans and stall with the procharger and cam is to run 11's with a hell of alot of traction. What do you guys think? I can get the procharger kit for 4300 dollars. My truck RCSB 2wd 4426 with me in it and nothing taken off!

Also I have never bought one of these kits before. How do you guys buy them? Save up for all of it and buy it with cash, or finance it, or put some money down and finance the rest. I dont want to get screwed with alot of interest.

I bought a radix, just saved and paid cash, didn't seem like the sort of thing I should finance.

The procharger will still need larger injectors, guages, etc. The STS kit is proven performer. The STS kit will also make full boost much sooner. Good luck with what ever you chose. Both kits will make good power.

With the cam that I am going to install in 2wks, do you guys think that I would have to upgrade to a larger turbo? 13 to 15 pounds of boost is what I would like to run. And would someone please explain the alchol meth injection to me? Is it like nitrous? Are they going to make a STS kit for a RCSB?

F8L seems to have the turbo sizing figured out. Meth is a form of alcohol. It acts as a liquid intercooler and adds octane. Id suggest checking out F8L's FMIC. Im hoping to do one here soon as well. The meth may enable you to get below ambient when used in conjunction with the FMIC. Im sure STS could come up with a kit to fit.

I just added up the price for both kits
STS complete with everything meth injection boost gauges etc 5000
the procharger would cost the same by the time you add gauges and injectors

I am strongly considering the STS, the sound of the turbo in unreal damn it sounds good!

With the procharger, you will need injectors and tuning. To run 11's you'll need a laptop with a wideband, datalogger, and tuning software. You'll have lots of frustration if you try to do it with mail order or dyno tunes. You'll also need a 3500+ stall to run 11's with no nitrous with the procharger. You should really consider better intercooler than the one that comes with the kit also.
