i think once they finish working out the bugs on their kit(if ever) the install will be much easier. not so much of a huge diference. i bet under 8-10 hours for me if i were to do it for the first time. some parts of the install are prety easy. droping the turbo/header/downpipe/waste gate in is prety easy once you have the ac line moved a little.
jury is definately still out. there will be some good numbers from both sides avaliable soon for comparisons, i cant wait. i still have my doubt but if a rear set up is comparable to a traditional mount i can think of some crazy cool projects in the futrure. a twin t70 set up on a 408 would be prety easy and look soo stealth if you could put them under the truck. or even in the box of the truck with a bed cover. you could nearly hide them completly. then an air to water in the back of the truck as big as you could dream of.

I say do it anyway Jim!
I am not sure either if my kit will be as efficient as a front mount but it should be close enough to not really matter. I mean you figure most LS1 cars tend to see 420-450rwhp on 5-6psi of boost on almost ANY type of FI right? The STS kit seems no different so far. I think it would lag a bit behind a standard turbo kit but stay ahead of a blower ESPECIALLY if you cool the air down like the other kits do.
There are pros and cons to each way of doing it. I'm just happy that we are given a choice now and can make good power either way.
Parish, did you check out Blackbirds thread in the FI forum? There is stock Camaro at the shop that did my truck dynoing an STS kit. He dyno'd before and after the kit and put down some decent #s considering he was at 5psi and seeing 160deg IATs. Before: 289rwhp/310rwtq After: 401rwhp/410rwtq

Thats the cool thing about turbos-they are upgradable and turbo lag is basiclly non existent now isnt it? I also say that Banks had a turbo kit out now for the smallblock Chevy and also have a twin turbo crate out! Turbos are becoming very popular with the truck guys these days!
