THAT KIT SOUNDS KICK *** FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD.HAS ANY ONE PUT A CUSTOM INTERCOOLER ON ONE YET.HAS ANY ONE PUT THAT TURBO KIT ON A 4.8. THE 4.8 HP NUMBERS SHOULD COME CLOSE TO A 5.3 BUT NOT TQ, YA THINK. YOUR TRUCK WILL BE BAD *** 03

I'm still feeling my way through a DIY tune. I'm putting on Alky Controls this weekend, and then more testing before I track it. The closest 4wd dyno is 100 miles away, so I make have to break down and dyno with the front shaft out.

BenKey is still working on the motor and then wants to break it in before tempting himself with the big turbo...

I'll definitely keep you posted as I get numbers.

Hey, 03 Scream, did you decide to slide the motor install? I'm heading back to NM for a few weeks this Sat and will miss out until then.
Can't wait to hear the results! Maybe some beer and wings will warrant a ride when all done?!?!?
I should have the iron stroker in by this time next week. More to come....

F8L: I'm in the same shoes as you lol. I have a bone stock 60E that I'll have to ginger around until a 80E is put in. Once the tranny is in, all is good though. What are you doing transmission wise?

KTM: Hey man, sorry I never got back to you. My friend is slouching so I haven't been able to do the swap yet. Actually, the place we were going to do the swap at might be taking over by a new owner, so we're kind of waiting to see what happens. Anyway, hit me up when you come back my way! Your truck should be pretty savage once that 383 is in there hehe.

TurboBerserker: Sweet truck! I saw your truck over on the SS site. I like the black out front end peices. How much boost do you plan on maxing out at? Also, what converter are you using?

I'll be doing a stock 4L80E for sure. Just need to find one for a decent price once all these new mods are paid for and everything calms down. I just bought a 210ga reef tank so money is very tight now

Same here, I've spent more money in the past month or so than I could ever imagine. Oh well, at least most of the exspensive stuff is out of the way.

03Screamer, thanks man.

I am running 7 psi in low boost mode and plan on 12-15psi with the alkycontrol meth kit ( cringe... 10.1:1 compression... probably 12 is pushing it). My wife is trying to talk me into doing a 408 now instead of next year (step right up to see the 14 armed baby!!). If I go that way, I'll be running 15psi for sure.

I am stress testing the stock converter and the stock 4L65E After 1 week of WOT tuning, I already know I'll be dropping in a new tranny in a month or so. Depending on what I can work out (looking for a tail shaft for an 80E that will fit my awd xfer case) , I'll probably try the trailblazer tc if I have to stay with a built 65E (cuz it won't last anywho). I am shooting for a 2800 stall -- maybe a 3000 if I have to spend money on a vig for the 80E. I've been trying desperately to find a way to bolt a T56/TKO6 up to the xfer case, but have pretty much given up on that.
