Default You need to talk to a STS dealer

Call nelsonperformance.com. He is a dealer and has a dyno too.

I hate to come in here and be like this, but this costs what, 4 grand

People can put out as little as 320 and as much as 350?
A 5.3 with intake/exhaust/headers/cam seem to be putting down about 300 horses. All of which can be done for $1250 if you play your cards correctly.

Then bore, and stroke to get some more displacement, for, I figure $1400. Get some good heads for 1500, and some bigger injectors for 200. So, for a couple hundred more than a turbo or s/c, you will see much bigger numbers than 320-350 IMO.

Thanks,
Derek

I think you are failing to se the logic behind the turbo. A heads/cam truck will never see the low to mid range power #s that a turbo'd or Radix'd truck will. These are also very low boost #s. I don't know many people that will stay with 5psi.

Show me a head/cammed/stroked 5.3L that makes this kind of HP throughout the rpm range:

I understand what you are getting at but you're talking alot of mods to get 350rwhp, mods that will negatively effect drivability and smogability. The STS kit is on the verge of getting a CARB # and if that's the case you could easily bolt up a kit and be smog legal and great drivability something a fully whacked out head/cam/stroked/bolt-on truck simply can't do.

I went through 3 sets of heads/cam and even a lil nitrous on my T/A and did the whole supercharged then stroked & supercharged thing on my Mustang and i have to say that the forced induction route was always the funnest.

Hmm after doing some reasearch and listening to the threads this looks like i may be adding this setup to my AV.

Stock 5.3 seems to hold up to just the 5psi and one can upgrade injectors, tune, and maybe Alky injection and go up higher with the boost. Might be looking for this real soon.

My SSS sounds like a nice aftermarket kit with the STS GT67 and no muffler. I also am using a 12" tail pipe

Wide open, its pretty loud, though.
