Default Suggested Mods for 05 Sierra

I really want to start doing some mods to my 2005 GMC Sierra. It's a 5 speed with a 4.3 V6. I've been thinking of doing the exhaust most likely a flowmaster 40 series setup, how much do you all think a single in dual out system would cost at an exhaust shop? I know I should call a local shop but before I even talk to them I want to know roughly how much I would likely be spending. I've heard alot of people say that a dual system sounds shitty on the 4.3 but I think it would sound pretty good. Besides the exhaust I plan on doing a cold air intake which seems worth the money. My last question is are power programmers really worth the money? If so could they eventually cause issues with the drivetrain I.E. Transmission ect.
thanks.

first off welcome to the site, you may want to do a search on the exhaust you may find some sound clips of different systems, I think the one in two out will sound ok and if you like the looks of duel pipes, a CAI is also good, I would not spent money on a handheld tuner, go with one of the tuners on this site, they can sent you a mail order tune and will bring that 4.6 to life

good luck on your mods

thanks, i figured that spending over $300 on a handheld tuner would be a bad idea.

It's an awesome truck, I've fell in love with it after getting rid of my old 94 Ford Ranger XLT complete with a slipping tranny and horribly underpowered 4 banger.
I can't wait to start doing some mods now that I'm saving up some money.
