Those are a bit pricey for the build I'm doing. I'm going to save the big money parts for the next build. I'm just looking for a set of 716's or 243's to throw on. I have four 716 heads right now, all of them are castech so I refuse to use them.

Why not just put nice heads on it now and transfer them to whatever else you want at that time?

let me break it down for you
a used set of 243/799 heads will cost $300 then they need to be milled down and may as welll do a valve job to make sure everything is up to parr $350.Next is a set of valve springs $200 for your cam
SO YOUR $850
Take that $850 and buy a good set of used ported heads for 850-950 shipped.Your gains will be more and will come with springs..bolt-on and go!

Biggest problem I have with that is finding a decent set for a decent price and then having them shipped up to Canada. Ideally I want to find a set of 716's that have been ported, and take them to my machine shop to be reworked and throw in some springs that I like.

What are good pushrods?
