Angry Superchips meets Ivan

Hey gang,
I bought a Superchips programmer from the classifieds here on LS1tech. I like the tune, but my home took on 4 ft of water while I was evacuated elsewhere. One of the many things that was ruined was the programmer. What can I do? Can I get another programmer and alter my truck's settings? Are my stock settings lost unless I reflash at the dealer?
Any help is appreciated.

Sry to hear about your home and the flooding.

You may talk to Speartech. If it dries out it might even work as is.

I doubt it. This was storm surge water, i.e. salt water.

Superchips can send you a programmer with your stock tune, all they need is your VIN. I don't know how bad they would rape you on price, though-might try to charge you full price again. I would say screw it and buy edit at that point.

Give Ron at Superchips a call (the CS number is on the back of the tuner). They are located here in Florida (Sanford as a matter of fact) and are no doubt able to commiserate with your troubles (although from Frances and Charlie rather than Ivan).

That sucks man! Sorry to hear about that but Ivan did me even worse than that. My family has a condo in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores RIGHT ON THE BEACH!
We dont plan on even going down to see how much damage there is(its not if there is its how much ) for at least another week because there is no where to stay and its not like you can just call the workers you need and they will be there in a souple of days! Our place is about a mile west of FloraBama bar!

Soak the sucker in reverse osmosis purified water (the least amount of salt and mineral water available is what you need), let it dry out and then see if it works.

I have done this with two water soaked computers (prior to trying to power them up) let them dry out and they worked fine. Rinsing them in plane mineral and salt free water got rid of all the salt and mineral deposits and prevented them from frying when they were dry and turned on. Worth a shot, anyway. It worked on a cell phone that was dropped into a fish tank as well. Deionized / Reverse osmosis water, I think is what I used. Whatever is the cleanest filtered, salt free, mineral free water at the store.
