surging at idle on 2000 tahoe please help
Hey guys i have a problem my dad's tahoe will sit and idle and will drop to like 200 rpms and nearly die it is drive by wire and there is a whining coming from what we think is the fuel pump do you think the fuel pump is going out?

That was happining to my 99 truck. It was the fuel pump. I put a gauge on the fuel line and it was getting 42 psi at an idle but when you gave it has it dropped all the way down to 11 psi. So i would say check that out to see if yours is doing the same thing.

My aunt's does the same thing (except her's doesn't whine). That thing runs like a POS now too. When it was new it would spank V6 Mustangs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Now it can't get out of it's own way.
Try changing fuel filters first & see if that helps. Hmm...I wonder if my aunt has?

yup mine just finished doing the same thing, if u replace the fuel pump which is probably the problem chech the wiring, mine were melted and stuck together on the INSIDE of the tank

I put this fuel pump in my truck GRN-GM722-2. That is summits part number for it. It is a 255 lph fuel pump for the ls1. I had to do a slight mod to the fuel pump assembly but it wasn't anything. I stock one from gm was like $398. I paid under $150 shipped 2nd air. It fixed mine.
