U can use any of the LQ4 or LQ9 engines. Good luck finding a LQ9. Any year is ok i prefer 02 up. As far as the swap itself. U can use your intake and injectors. They are the same as on a LQ4. The LQ9 intake has 26 lbs. injectors. The tune u got in your 4.8 wil run the 6.0. It will set a O2 code in the winter saying its too lean. For peak performane u want it tuned right. The swap is simple plug and play.

Like said, but I would go with a 05 up, 05+ have the ls2 internals in the lq4-9 which are beefier the the pre 05's. You can use everything off your 4.8, besided your pcm, you will need that retuned. i would also look into a trans an rear shortly after the swap. It is a straight swap, everything plugs in..

The LQ9 had the beefy internals since 2002.

I have a 2002 LQ9. I used everything off the old 2000 4.8L, all accessories, wiring, and intake. I'm don't think the LQ9 has 26lb injectors, I think they also use the 24.7's.

Yes the 9 did and not the 4, but in 05 they all received the LS2 internals.

I'm almost positive the LQ9 and every other truck v8 uses the same injectors. I do think it's odd though that an LS1 has 28lb injectors whereas a 6.0 only has 24.7lb'ers.

I spent a lot of time looking for an LQ9, mainly because I knew it had beefier rods and higher compression. Also, I really wanted an 05+ LQ4 (that also had the beefier internals) but they were just out of my price range. An 05+ LQ9 was way out of my pricerange. So I settled for the 02. Let's just say it turned out just fine. My rear tires hate me

Same injectors, if you plan to add a cam, boltons and whatever you will need bigger injectors and a set of 8.1's or the marine 8.1's injectors. If you ever plan on going FI I would go with a lq4 since it has lower comp, will be a lil more boost friendly. Either way if you get a pre 05 or whatever, they will take what ever you can put at them for the most part. You can find a 05 up for 1200 or less if you look. I picked mine up for 1200 shipped to me with 11k on it..
