Same injectors, if you plan to add a cam, boltons and whatever you will need bigger injectors and a set of 8.1's or the marine 8.1's injectors. If you ever plan on going FI I would go with a lq4 since it has lower comp, will be a lil more boost friendly. Either way if you get a pre 05 or whatever, they will take what ever you can put at them for the most part. You can find a 05 up for 1200 or less if you look. I picked mine up for 1200 shipped to me with 11k on it..

The absolute best prices I found were from a guy on LS1tech: form>function. He had an 06 LQ9 with 35k for $1700 picked up. He is in detroit so it was too far for me. He also has fresh 06/07 LS2's for $2400 shipped.

Through all of my searching, I NEVER saw an 05 up LQ4 that cheap. The going rate for an 05 up is $1700 minimum nowadays. LQ9's command $2000 minimum.
