Default Swapped Stock Air Box Out - Good Results

Intake setup before the swap:
AirAid intake tube
Stock Air Box
K&N Filter to fit above
G-Tech 0-60 time: Typical time 7.20 seconds. Best time 6.94 seconds.

Intake setup before the swap:
AirAid intake tube
K&N style cold air setup off Ebay. Tossed the filter.
K&N Filter model RF-1020
G-Tech 0-60 time: 1st run 7.20 seconds (shifting) with tire spin and into the rev limiter. 2nd run 6.90 seconds with tire spin. 3rd run 6.67 seconds. 4th run 6.76 seconds. I just let the tranny shift on its on after the first run.

Needless to say I'm happy and a little surprised at the results. I would have thought a tenth maybe. The ol' butt dyno is giving good results too. The truck seems more responsive on the low end and the tone of the intake noise is better. It sounds less laborous, if that makes any sense. I hope to get back to MTI next week to get the rev limit raised to 6200 or so and the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts raised to near 6000. I also want to get it on the dyno again and see what numbers we have now.

New MTI tune with new K&N Filter in Ebay heat shield and AirAid Intake Tube:

Nice gains. What happened to the first tune. I would expect to see more out of a custom tune.

I am not sure. I have read that the typical gain for LS1 F-Body cars is about 10HP & 10 Ft/Lbs torque. My numbers were right in line with that on the first tune. MTI recommended a better intake. I didn't like the numbers from the 1st tune either, so I decided to try a new intake system and let them tweak it. It looks like it made a difference.

The temp today was 78 deg which is about 5 deg cooler than the base numbers and the humidity is about the same at 75% or so.
