Switching intakeManifold, Leaning towards the Vic Jr
I still have the stock manifold, looked at a few, Considered the FAST LSrt, the LS6 and the Vic Jr., I need info on the different combos and how hard it is to make em work. I think the LS6 intake would be alot of work, changing pulleys & stuff, the FAST is very expensive, the Vic Jr would need an adapter or an elbow or a carb throttlebody. Would i need to buy another throttlebody any way.I still want to use my K&N filter/intake. Pic of the different setups would be good.Thanx

What's on it now? the stock one everyone says is the ugly looking one? Could also add the GMT900/TBSS manifold to the mix, flows pretty well and has more of an emphasis on torque.

I still have the original 5.3 intake manifold from 1999. But I've done head & cam changes. The cam is 226/226 dur .585/.585 lift 112* LSA. Heads are 63cc chambers 2.02" int 1.57" exh valves. I have a 3600 stall TC, with 4.10 rear, LT headers, no cats, 3" cut out, 2.5" true duals Magnaflow mufflers K & N CAI

^^lol thats where the intake is.....hummm.
I would not go vic jr, or any edelbrock intake. I would go TBSS. even with the heads and new cam, you wont have enough motor to use a vic jr. it looks like you went down in compression too, unless you used thinner head gaskets. I would have milled those heads and got the comp up to at least 10:1.

I wouldn't get the Vic Jr either, you will loose too much torque, match that with a heavy truck and you have you'll have a mushy feeling ride.
Even worse is an elbow on top, that kills the Vic Jr!!!!
You could go TBSS/GMT900, but the LSXRT has shown to make 20rwhp, and not loose any torque, compared to the TBSS intake on a stone stock 5.3L. Gains would most likely be even more with your modified engine.
Ive even read where FAST has stated the LSXRT is their best manifold, just most people don't have room under the hood.

I agree with the above, you"ll loose too much by going with the vic jr. IMO the way to go would be a TBSS/GMT900 intake for a boost in torque, if you want some more top end and are reving past 6k then the Fast LSXRT is the ticket, with your mods I would venture a guess of 30hp+.
