Well you certianly have the converter for it. And judging how happy you are with the current stick it looks like you're on track for that little bit more you're looking for.............

I really like the specs of it. I would go higher on lift but I also have the springs for it. Will be glad to see the results.

Thats a tuff decision to swap cams!
The 212/218 is stout lil cam
I have also been lookin at swappin cams but there isnt soild proof its worth the little gain.
I found a few trucks basically the same as mine with tr220 cams...track time are within a tenth of mine.
No way i am swappin a cam for one tenth!

Similar setups dont always perform similar!!! Its possible your truck was just a factory freak. I ran a small cam in the white truck for a little bit and it wasnt worth it, then I went to a stock LS1 cam and couldnt tell a difference, so when I bought the cam I ended up with, I got it custom spec'ed
Ive seen some trucks respond really good to one cam, and another similar set up not get the same gains.

Id be interested to see your baseline/cam dyno, compared to the one youre referring to that gained 1 tenth. I agree a cam swap isnt worth a 1/10th to me, just saying your particular set up may see more than that. I learned the stubborn way suspension set up has a lot to do with it also. had a friend cut .2 off my 60' for free pretty much. .2 60'= .4 1/4 mile. Gotta compare apples to apples. From what I hear, your truck hooks decent, compare 60's with those trucks too.

As far as the topic, I like the look of the 217/223. I like odd stuff like that. Should be a good cam with the converter!

lets compare apples to apples!
My truck and Lady3bglover is the best comparision mod for mod

Lady3bglover
Reaction Time: 0.246
60 Foot Time: 2.066
330 Foot Time: 5.771
1/8 Mile Time: 8.832
1/8 Mile MPH: 81.02
1000 Foot Time: 11.491
1/4 Mile Time: 13.765

MY truck
R/T .765
60ft 2.02
1/8 8.92@79.10mph
1/4 13.82@99.6mph

The only differences between the 2 trucks
3.42 vs 4.10
212/218 vs tr220
3000 stall vs 3200 i think

After looking around i dont see a bigger cam benefitting me.
Would love to try a vinci trucker 216/224 but dont see it worth the trouble for little gain

well the only reason im doing this swap is like i said i have a cousin that kinda does all the work for me and im not paying for this cam. just gotta give him my old one. i love the cam but im just not feeling the top end.. to what i just saw comparing the number is like im lacking top end..
1.98 60'
8.91 1/8 @ 78mph..
so i can already c myself loosing top end compared to the others... idk the cam swap is gonna get done and hope its for good.. as long as i dont get slower im good.. not asking for much its just a 5.3...lol

well give us some results after its done...Lets see what the outcome is
If some how it picks up 3to4 tenths that would make me swap mine but i dont see them kinda gains

dont get me wrong u can put a big cam and big convertor and sling shot anything threw the 1/4 mile but street mannors are gonna suck

no i totally understand u.. and well i havent run it on the 1/4 mile but i hope that when i do the 1/8 i do gain atleast 2 tenths...if i were too gain 4 tenth that means it would be one fast extended cab 4x4..lol.. i might run it with the 30.5 tires to compare times to my old cam then run a 28" to c if i gain any time of that also.. i just want to know what set up will be best for the 1/4 mile.. ill keep everyone informed..really appreciate everyones help and opinions..
