Default Synthetic Motor Oil???

I just bought my 00' RCSB GMC about 4 mos ago and have just started using some synthetic motor oil in my 5.3. I have never had a problem with any oil consumption in the past. But when I used the synthetic oil after about 1500miles it is giving me a low oil light in my message center, what's up with this? I used the same amount of syn oil as I did with the regular 10w-30. I checked my oil after about 300 miles on my fresh synthetic oil and it wasn't even on the dip stick!!!!! Anyone have any idea as to what I am doing wrong or what my truck is doing wrong and how it's buring all this oil??? thanks in advance!!!!

Default Re: Synthetic Motor Oil???

switch back to conventional oil asap. once a motor has seen conventional oil for a period of time, if it is converted to synthetic, it will most likely do what you are talking about or develop leaks from hell. just keep your oil changed and you will be fine.
