Do it. I know someone that has that cam. Sounds pretty damn good but im pretty sure gas mileage may suck. You should def be in the 12's with that cam and proper tuning. It wont run with the stock tune by the way. Just making sure you know.

The T-Rex is meant to be the biggest cam you can fit in an LS1 without having to flycut. I think on the side, it was meant to take full advantage of the stock heads - but the two kind of go hand in hand.

Personally, I think you guys are nuts for looking to run this thing, but hey...

I hope this is RCSB 2wd, truck...

You will most likey want to go in and do rod bolts at the same time so you can take advantage of the powerband. This cam revs HIGH in a LS1, nevermind a smaller displacement motor. I'm pretty sure you'll be in the higher 6,000 range. You will ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY want to degree this in and check PtoV clearances.

I would look around on the site for dyno's and comments on the cam. There are thousands. I know some were not all that happy with it - it may have a real peaky powerband to get those nice dyno numbers.

I don't really think you'll see 12's on the cam and stall though. What other mods do you have?

Also, the T-Rex is a 242/248 at .050 cam.

i'd be looking into 4200 or more stall to run that in a 5.3. expect to be shifting around 7400.

That's such a f$#@ing crazy-*** cam! I wish I didn't have to drive my truck everyday, I'd love to go to something more radical. Just you make sure you get us some sound clips or videos once you get that beast running.
