Wow, first time eh? Me and Shawn did two trucks, 2 cams and 2 sets of springs in 10hrs at the shop. Thats was from pulling them in to pulling them out. Not to brag or anything lol. Just goofin with you we have done a few now. BTW, how do you liek the power now, bet it was worht it when all said and done. Make sure you have no vacume leaks as that could be your whistling noise.

Your whistling your getting is more than likely either a vacuum line you left off. If all lines look good, then check your crank pulley to make sure it's seated onto the crank all the way. Check the edges of your fan belt to see if it's freyed. But yah, I would check your vacuum lines first and when you think everything looks good, check them again.

Oh and also, don't worry about your 19 hours to do you cam swap, it took me just as long my first time. Especially when you're trying to be careful. My problem was running around town trying to find a longer crank bolt to put the pulley back on and then I lost a damn retainer lock when swapping valve springs. Now at least if I do a cam swap in the future, there will be no surprises and I already have stiffer valve springs installed (which takes up a whole afternoon in itself)

how do you like the cam? i've got the same cam in my truck, but i have the 5.3. Do you have issues with starting it and taking off right away? I've got mine tuned by Nelson and i love it. Just need to figure out starting issue and get a stall. Gotta love the lope.
