Default T1 cam in a 5.3 Z-71, how will it run?

Anyone do this yet? I can get a great deal on the cam and springs/T retainers. The truck is 4x4, and I use it for everyday driving, and towing the car to the track in the summer.

Truck curently has 108,000 miles on it, and is running great!!

Will this can give it a little bit of get up and go? Pics on the truck in the sig. Thanks.

With a heavy truck and stock stall, I think its a little large for what you want. The 112 LSA would make it lope nicely. I think it would fly once you got it past 3000 rpms though. It would be a highway monster. Towing would suffer I think, but until someone tries it, we dont know.

Give it a shot. Worst case, pull the cam out for a smaller one later. The springs would work fine for most any cam. Plus, the springs take the longest to install, so the second time would be much faster.

Just my opinion, but I think that the T1 would be a little large for a heavy 4x4 towing a trailer w/car. You would lose a chunk of your low-end power. If it were me, I would swipe the springs & Ti retainers and get a 206/212 from one of the sponsors.

However, It would pull like hell from about 3500-6500! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I think more gear would cure your low end loss.
