Tachometer is wrong?
As I had mentioned before, it seems that with the new cam and lq9 setup that my 1-2 shift specifically is shifting way past 6000 but dont know where. I mean it pulls forever past 6000 and pulls and pulls and pulls hell I could count to 5 ......so I decided to calibrate the G-tech to match my rpms and g-tech recorded a 1-2 shift at 7800RPM I know that if I were to ever shift that high that for real that my engine would be toast and the funny thing is that it pulls hard all the way to the shift and doesnt really sound like it is reving that high. I havnt had the crank relearn done yet, could this be the problem and throw off my tach?

Theoretically you can go past 7K with it and be alright but one little hiccup and its toast. 01Thunder spun his to 7100 on the dyno with stock bottom end on the dyno one time. Do you have rod bolts in it? If you really can count to 5 after the tach pegs at 6K then you are spinning well past 7k. In my 5.3 with shift points at 6800 it would shift about 2 1/2-3 seconds after the tach was pegged.

So he's running that stock block up to 7,800 without bottem end failure?
I just can't see it happening too many more times. Not without picking up the the bottom end behind him.

Not saying its reliable by any means just saying it possible to be spinning it that high but he will have problems with oiling, bearing wear etc. I wouldnt expect it to last long at all but since 01thunder hit 7100-7200 wouldnt be out of the realm of possibility. I hit 7k with my stock bottom end 180k mile 5.3 once when Allen was tuning it and hit the rev limiter.

The bottom end is stock, no rod bolts. My tach does not read above 6000, that is why I am wondering what it is shifting at. It pegs 6000 for a very long time while it continues to pull, that is why I calibrated the G-tech to give me an idea of what it is shifting at but if the tach is wrong than the g-tech would be wrong theoretically because you hold it a certain rpms for a few seconds during calibrating. I wouldnt think that the mail order tune would let it go past 6500-6800 without the fuel cutting off, that is why I am thinking my tach might be wrong because it still shifts around 50-53mph with the 3.42.
