Default Take Her To The Dealer?

Has anyone had problems with the RCSB 5.3 Transmission. I have 1800 mi. on her and when I was getting on the highway today it reved up in RPM before it caught. It felt like the rear end was lose almost. Wierdest thing I have ever felt . It did it a couple of times and stopped. I don't know if its a freak incident or if I should take her in. I really don't feel like walking home anytime soon.

Definitely take it in. There are some software upgrades to the PCM that correct a couple of tranny issues that may not have been included in your stock program.

04 Yukon, mine has done this twice. Felt exactly as described above, like you broke the rear tires loose. Happened during a 2nd gear romp both times, RPMs shot up to about 4 grand. Weird thing is that when it caught again it did not jerk forward or anything, just kind of winded back into it. I let out of the throttle and all, but figured it would have clunked or something when it engaged again.

Bringing mine to dealer next week.

tsb on it? what would u have the dealer look at if he drives it and says theres nothing wrong or they could duplicate. What hard fact or what would i say to show this is an issue? reason is when getting my warrenty for the piston slap, i mentioned to the service advisor, he drove it, had a tech drove it and told me everything seems just fine.. mmm hmmm. whatever.. but atleast it doesnt do it alot..

THAT is the catch. If anything, the issue would be logged and you would have paperwork if it occured in the future. If your trans failed after warrant was up, couldnt you then point back to the visits for the trans when they stated that nothing was wrong, and in turn get it fixed even if out of warranty? That is hat happened with my chrysler 300M and AC / Seats issues.

I am atleast going to have them drain and refill and check it out. It is a bit un nerving.

I've heard of many instances when dealers fixed issues on out-of-warranty vehicles because there was documentation of related issues while the vehicle was under warranty. For this reason alone, I would take it in.
