Question Taking off egr and cats...

I got a Nelson tune and had the O2 sensors and egr turned off. Now I was wondering if taking off my egr will hurt my MPG. How about taking off my cats? Imput appreciated. Thanks!

i have my egr turned off on my 01 as well as no cats,

last weekend i took a highway trip with a few miles of city and ended up with an even 20 mpg. the truck is a 5.3, 3:73 rcsb fwiw. so no i dont think it hurt mpg.
