they could be too long also...what might be "tapping" is the pushrods pushing to much against the lifters and the lifters being fully compressed all the time!! you need a pushrod checker tool to be sure you get the right length pushrods...

They actually were not bent when I took them out last. I now have 7.4'' hardened 1 piece pushrods and I still have tapping coming from the valvetrain. I'll also mention, I swapped in new, Comp OEM lifters and yet again, the tapping still remains.

I used a pushrod length tool from Comp. I set lash to 0 and the length was 7.4'', so therefore I will be installing 7.500'' pushrods which will be .100'' of preload.

good luck man, ill be milling my heads .030 soon and maybe this will help me figure out if i need new rods or not
