Default tc effect highway mileage?

Im not real worried about my intown mileage...but after finding out how much a tc costs to get installed i definitely want to go a little bigger than i originally thought just to be safe. A 3000 to 3200 will still be the same highway mileage right? I will still be able to partake in minor towing right?

It will stay the same. How much do you plan to tow and which converter?

will be hitting the used market so not sure yet. Im just trying to plan out my next 4 mods so i can start hiting the forums hard. I thought about originally just doing a tbtc, for minor improvement. But if im spending 400 bucks to get it installed i want to go big. I dont tow very often maybe 3 times a year. But it might be a 20ft bass boat, or a flatbed trailer with trash or something. what are the effects of towing with a tc..loss of power or mechanicle damage?

Smaller torque converters create heat faster. More heat=dead transmission.

Overall diameter and stall speed, just look up 40,000k tranny cooler that should solve the problem.
highway mileage will generally stay the same or close to it, rpms will be the same as before on the highway...if you keep your foot out of it

If you get a Stall, dont go cheap.. and dont ask me how i know..
If you get it used, make sure to send it off to get it rebuilt.

so the higher the stall the more my tranny heats, thus causing damage. ? Gotcha. So is 3k safe for moderate towing and performance improvement. Or should i just stick with my 2600 stall tbtc

Yanks truck thruster torque converters work well and you can still tow with them. You'd be fine with a yank 3000tt. I just so happen to have if your interested.

Agreed, buy a gooood stall, not a no namer. Get a BIG cooler. I run a 3200 on the street, is set to lock under reg driving at 50. Never seen above 150 trans temp since the upgraded cooler, ever. Yes it will hurt mpg but more in the city then hwy..
