Default testing the limits of a stock 6.0

if i dont have to invest in a better tranny i hope to be n the 10's by the end of the year. have to see what how much it can take. got 2 BIG races lined up tomorrow, going to hit it with 8psi and a 100shot

race one, 01 ws6, auto, lots of bolt ons, 150tnt shot, 12 bolt, slicks.....

race two, 03 cobra, kenn bell blowzilla, nitrous, 9", slicks, stock tranny, and who knows what else.<< still working the bugs out and learning how to drive.

i havn't really been blown away yet this year, lots of real close races and one vega that got me. thinking tomorrow i will get beat bad but who knows.

i see rebuildable 6.0's going for under $1000 complete all the time so have decided to just keep bumping up the power on this unit till something lets go. carefully watch the tune, not let it go lean and not let it detonate.

so far it has been taking 8psi and a 75shot well, even been running 9psi and a 75shot for the last couple of weeks. if it like the 8psi and 100shot i will try 9psi and a 100shot, then in a couple more weeks try a 125 or set up a 2 stage with a 75 shot out of the hole and more later. anyone want to guess at what level it will let go? 8psi 100shot? 9psi 100shot? 9psi 125shot? 9psi 150shot? even higher? i will not let it run lean!

Dont spin it past 6K and it will last a while.

You know you are leaving quite a bit of power on the table by running it so rich (unless you've leaned it out lately). You posted about hitting 10:1 a/f at times. I bet you could unleash quite a bit more power by getting those areas to 11:1 or higher. With your wideband, you should have a good grip on that situation.

i have the a/f ratio dialed in prety well to 11.5-1, prety much always between 11-1 and 12-1, did you ever figure out how to adjust the timeing on these things?

Good. I swear I remember you saying you were getting pretty rich results. I'd stick to 11.5:1 to be safe.

Just out of curiosity, how many bottles of the cold stuff you been through so far? Addicting isn't it.

I wish I knew how to properly adjust the timing. All the formulas and info I can find dont work out. The table data and my observed timing never match up. The rpm columns should be straight forward, so the problem must be in the calculations for Gms/Cyl I think there is another unknown factor in the computations. I have a couple ideas about trial and error testing, just haven't taken the time to do it.
