Is there ever a point where you question the point of trying to make a truck fast?

I think it is way more fun to work on our trucks.Plus i am 31 with a messed up back and when i worked on my 98ss it took me days to do something as i couldnt get comfy to work.My truck there is more room everywhere to do the same thing and getting in and out is alot easier.Believe m my fav car is a vette but the truck is a great comprimise.Sry for the rant....

I like having the truck for my DD but the Vette is soooo sexy. They both run their *** off. But I have noticed that many people automatically think you're a dick for driving a Vette. (Most girls really do LOVE IT though when they are honest about it.) I bought it because it is both gorgeous and an engineering marvel. It also can run mid to low 12's bone stock and gets 29+ mpg on cruise 70. 31 @ cruise 65. 11's are just a DR away with a good driver. Weight is 3115 without me. If I spent what I have spent on my truck it would run easy low 10's - high 9's. But it is too nice to beat the crap out of all the time so I don't anymore. I wouldn't trade my truck experience for anything, (it's a blast to surprise people like that V8 M3 a few weeks ago) and its just practical to drive. I just wish so many didn't judge me for driving a Vette. People want to either key it in a parking lot or just throw something at it, like Ice cream or soda. I'm always a courteous driver so I've ruled that out. There is so much prejudice that I will probably be selling it soon. I don't recommend owning one. It's a shame, I'm really a friendly guy and the same guy that drives and loves my truck! Sorry for the novel.

everytime i ran someone and i pull them hard in first and second then they catch up or pass me in thrid im like **** should have built a car this brick aint working.

but then again my 96 is on stock wheels and stock body besides rollbar out the back windows. when i pull in somewhere everyone is crazy about. the street races everyon asks where the truck is. if i lose people say damn its still fast for a truck, when i win there crazy that its a truck lol. everyone chills on the tailgate i can tow spare tires and jacks and **** around.

even though it weighs 3400 pounds the brick effect still sucks lol. but the respect and joy u get so out weighs it ... plus a lot of nitrous overcomes top end when you need that grunt haha

If you drive a fast car you have to call someone with a truck to help you move ****. If you drive a fast truck. Your all set. Hell, you might even win a few races while loaded down.

The other day these ******** were working on the sewer on the exit from my wing of the apartment complex. The sewer hole was on one side of the drive and they were hooked up to a fire hydrant on the other, with their truck smack in the middle pumping water. Of course, I was barely running on time to class. I hopped the curb and took the sidewalk around :-) Oh yeah, later that week I smoked a Z06 and a cammed TA at the track. Trucks are so much more fun, but I will definitely go with an extended cab for my next one so I can carry more junk and passengers.
