is there too much lift in this cam?
there is a guy trying to sell a TR220 ( 220 220 .553 .553 @112+4 ) and i was wondering if there is too much lift in this cam for my 5.3? what all would i need for the swap if i were to get it.

Unless you have had your heads milled a bunch and dont have the stock ratio rockers then that cam should be fine. I think a stock motor can go up to .600/.600 max. That cam would Kick *** in a 5.3. I had .558/.558 on my truck and it was nice and no problems.

i would say that is fine. but if you go much bigger then you get into flow problems. these stock 5.3 heads only flow to 560ish lift. so any more lift would be defeating the purpose.

Leo, I have a .568 lift in mine so you should have NO PROBLEM !!! Same cam as 1slow01Z71's. Z06 springs or 915's will run it no problem or 918's if you can't find them...By the way that's a damn strong cam, I'd say GET IT !!!
