Where can I get a cooler t-stat? I want a 160 or 180. I know I will have to be tuned for it and everything but where is the least expensive place to get one??

What I have found out is that most T-stats are 10* off if you test them in boiling water. ie a 160* will open at 170* and a 180* will open at 190* ect. I found a place that had a 170* and it opened at 178* I can't remember where I got it at but if anybody is interested I will look through my reciepts.
I had gotten one that was very inexpencive and it was 18* off

I got a brand new Hypertech 180 T-stat part # 1015. I ordered the wrong freakin one I was looking to get a 160 but ordered a 180 . I bought it for 51.25 with tax and shipping I will let it go for 40.00 shipped. I already bought the 160 I needed and didn't want to go thru all the return crap. Let me know.

yeah you have to heat up the spring so it opens easier I think... but honestly, no more expensive than a new one is... might as well do it right... my brother used to gut the thermo (cut the seal and spring out) and run it like that. who needs a heater in texas anyway LOL....
