Default Think I should use the Jet Speed Control Unit (SCU2000)?

I've got to make a 500+ mile trip (there and back) in about a month (hopefully) to get my truck tuned. I would like to go ahead and get my eaton w/4.10s and have them installed before I go. That way I can break them in a little in advance. So, I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Jet SCU2000 (speed control unit)? Do ya'll think everything would be o.k? I know I really should wait and get them installed when I get my tuning but, I'm real impatient and can't save money that well! Isn't it 500 miles when breaking in new gears? Also, would the SCU2000 have any effect on anything when getting tuned with LS1 edit? Thanks.

I had an SCU 2000 on two of my trucks and it is a POS! The first one they sent me didnt work right. The speedo didnt move and it wouldnt shift out of first. The replacement they sent me made the tranny come out of lock up and made it shift so hard it threw a slip code. After I had the torque convertor replaced by the dealer I got rid of it. Maybe youll have better luck than me with them.

Good thing I asked you guys, Thanks! Maybe I should get a predator for the Gear ratios and that way I can read whats going on in my truck.

I got one for my old Dakota and the truck wouldn't start. I also tried it on my cousin's Ram and the same thing. Tech support was useless. It sounded like I was calling someone's house. I sent it back for a refund and they said it worked fine and called me a liar! But they did send a refund. Don't buy anything Jet!!!
