Default thinking of a 6.0

a 6.0 out of a 02 2500hd almost 100,000 miles when i build it what little tricks can i do or what parts can i cross over to make the most hp what kind of mileage difference will i see vs. the 5.3. would my 00 vette cam be a good choice in the 6.0. i havent bought the motor yet so if anybody else has a lead on another 6.0 with less miles let me know. Thanks, Chad

Bore it stroke it forged internals. Forget the vette cam. A torque monster can be built from a 6.0 cylinder block.

im building a dd and i do a good bit of towing so im trying to keep it as mild mannered as possible and keep some fuel economy. i will probably just freshen the motor and have some mild port work done on the intake and heads just to improve the efficiency. will i need the 6.0 computer or can i retune my 5.3 computer?

You can retune the 5.3 PCM. But I would buy a newer 02+ Silverado PCM. Just an overall better PCM to use. 99-00 PCM's had some inherent problems that are best avoided if at all possible.
