Heres the differance between the pcv valves.

one on the left is the new reduced style, smaller hole and I believe it doesn't have anything to rattle inside.

 

I just ordered my catch can from AMW.

While using the catch can, do you still use the PCV valve?

The reason I got one is because I have a large amount of crud in my intake and it fouls up my throttle body making it stick and causes the truck to die and or idle rough. I have cleaned it once, and it's doing it again. So, I'll try the catch can and clean everything out and see what happens after a few months.

 

Anyone have the p/n for the new and improved pcv valve?

yes, I just bought one and before I return the older style I snapped a pic to see the differance.

do the newer trucks have the newer style valve? I would suspect they do.

 

would the new style pcv work on a 99?
