Thinking about getting a SCSB 5.3
Ok, I am in the market for a 99-02 Chevy 5.3 A4 SCSB truck... can someone please share the differences between those years as in power wise, and what is the average 1/4 time for this truck.... and what is the best mods for the least amount of $$. and one last thing, what is the average going cost of these trucks. Thank you

Don't get a 99 unless you will mod the hell out of it or get and awesome deal. If that is the case, get a "cheap" high milege 4.8 but well kept. You can get something like this for about 8k and drop a cammed 6.0 on it. If are going mild on the mods, just go with an 02+.

02's + have no egr already so i guess that helps some, if you wanna just to bolt ons and keep the motor (like myself), just get an 02 because it has a biggercam than the 99 models, and has no egr (the previous years did).. and i like the way they look better than the 03 silverados. the 03 gmc's look better.. but, overall get an 02
but if your gunna swap the internal stuff and get down and dirty, get whatever is cheap.
