The only fault I've ever found with a Yank TT3000 is that it will roll backwards on a really steep grade. No you won't be crusing at 3000 rpm and it stalls much lower than 3000rpm at part throttle. In my oppinion the Yank TT3000 is the single best mod you can make to a LS1 powered truck.

Mine's done no such thing. Except for when I tap the gas real quick and she pops up the tach.

tt3000 here for about 6k miles, happy with it so far. Theres some funky unlocking/jerking going on sometimes when it stays in the same gear but i give it half throttle or so, hard to explain and it might not even be stall related, I just dont know, but overall its nice, you'll be suprized how 'un-loose' it feels, I was thinking it wouldn't move when I let off the brake, but it is very similar to stock off idle.

I pretty much hammered on mine after it came out of the shop (shop owner wanted a ride hehe) so I dont know if the funky feel it has sometimes is break-in related. But it still really wont roast the tires from a stop, even with the new Nelson tune. I have a pretty soft rear end susp which may contribute, but it wont spin the tires but about 5 feet if that - I expected more "tire spinning action" from a 3k stall

I have heard that the tt3000 is good to tow with up to 7000lbs. but also i have heard that you will have to drive it not as hard with that kind of weight. I am not sure what one i am going to get yet because i pull about 5000lbs of boat to and from the lake.

My truck is a little lighter, but the 3200 in mine works out great and i can load the bed down pretty good and have no problems moving along.

go for the 3K,

allen

I've been thinking about getting one myself. Sounds like I may need the TT3000 convertor. They are just expensive. I will have to save for a little while. Then I will have to hear the wife complain a little more. But I'm getting used to it.

i went with the TT2600. im sure the 3000 is better for the track, but my truck is a daily driver. my converter doesnt lock until around 55mph and until then i see 2600 rpm cruising around at half throttle. im very happy with my TT2600. it gave me a nice boost off the line (after i learn how to launch) and i dont feel like i sacrificed any of its daily-driver-type street manners.

I would go for the 3000 at least. If you dont do much in the way of towing I would go 3200-3400. I think Im going to send mine back to PI for a restall, 3200 sounds real nice with a centrifugal blower

I couldn't have said it better. There is a learning curve as far as launching the truck after the TT3000 install, but once you get that down, traction really isn't a big issue as long as you have some decent tires. Granted, I'm not making a ton of power either, but it spins for like 2-3 feet and then is gone! You just have to let off the brake and hit the gas from an idle instead of stalling it up against the converter. Like whitt said, TT3000 has been my best mod yet, although I've got this 6.0L thats been sittin' here dormant on the floor for near 2 months. I really need to get off my ***!
