Go for it Corey! You will love the DD torque on tap from the 6.0 over the anemic 4.8. Hell, youll be faster at the track with a stock 6.0 versus your cammed 4.8. IMO, the setup im running would be ideal for you. The mid 220s cam idles basically like stock.

What you do/run isn't ideal for everybody. I've seen you post that far too many times.

Don't be afraid of 11:1 compression and pump gas. Just the right cam LQ9 combo sounds about like what you're wanting.

In other words.... The lq4 with your current heads and 224 xer cam would meet your goals. Thats what I would do.

You still got me beat... lol

I don't blame ya man, im always tinkering with something, whether its interior/exterior/speakers/ or my new favorite... Motor

IMO the 6.0 with your heads would be a great setup. Medium sized cam, good stall, it should be a DD beast. Cant beat that either! In the end its up to you really your the driver here

I wonder what my 5.7 with the P&P'd 862's are going to do, esp on an MS3 with a 113lsa.

And we still haven't got an invite to the new house

Hell yea! engine swapping party that lasts a month at Coreys house

And for what it's worth, if you look at my dyno, these heads really made most the difference in TQ and especially lower rpms. I picked up over 50ftlbs in some places.

Well i dunno about that, but it will be a project

I am thinking that i will get the motor early and take it down the short block. Take off all the covers and clean/sandblast them and paint them.. those of you that have seen under my hood know i like to keep it clean under there . also i am thinking about replacing the majority of the gaskets so i don't have to worry about future leaks, that is just a thought thou....

Corey, Ive got all the kent moore tools for putting these motors together by the book if you want to use it if you end up tearing the motor all the way down to a bare shortblock. Youre more than welcome to use them. I could bring them with me when I come up to do the fans.

If your current converter stalls to 3600 with the 4.8 Id say it will be a 4200ish. For semi reference my converter I had behind my 222/224 cammed 5.3 with a 100shot would flash to 3200, with the 418 it went to 4000 or a hair over. Another cammed 5.3 that went to a stock LS2 went from 3400ish to 3800ish. Id say youre in for a 600 or so rpm change but the nice thing is, the part throttle response will stay the same just when you hammer it, it will flash higher
