Thorley vs OBX

Nope. Doesnt need any backpressure. It needs velocity. The backpressure myth has been spread for years, often by exhaust shops confussing it with velocity. Often times a little backpressure can help the velocity of the flow and this causes the confusion.

Pacesetters also come ceramic coated for 350ish. That is what Jet-Hot will do for $250. just order them coated and your good to go. The ceramic coating wont rust or turn blue as long as you clean them every year or so with the special polish you can find online.

People seem to say that the factory applied coatings don't last but a couple of years, even less near the coast and where the roads are salted. Jet Hot's coatings usually last for much, much longer. It does cost more, but if it doubles the life of your headers, I say it's worth it. My painted JBA's on my Bronco only lasted 3 years before some of the welds rusted through... wish I had them coated when I bought them, that was $500 not well spent.

I'm thinking Thorleys now once again. It's just kind of hard to justify getting the Pacesetters then sending them in to be coated, and the total price would put me at or most likely above what the thorleys cost. But yeah that Y-pipe thing, I dont see why the Pacesetter Y-pipe wouldnt work. And probably send the Y to Jethot to be coated.....
