Question for you guys with your mufflers dumped? When your truck is idleing do you have an exhaust smell in the cab. Ever since I had my exhaust system done I have smelled exhaust smoke in the cab if it sits still long enough. What is the easiest way to find an exhaust leak?

i've got no exhaust smell with mine, but with my Extended cab the outlet is still pretty far back (right before the axle). I'll let somebody else chime in with leak finding solutions. good luck.

is that with the windows up? You shouldnt have a smell with the windows up since the cab is sealed..

as for the smell.. its gonna smell. If you sniff the exhaust when it exits the rear it doesnt smell good Now dump it under the truck so it has no where to go and its gonna rise up around the sides of the truck so yeah it would be more noticable

with no cats it will smell alot more:-P

You shouldn't be smelling exhaust unless its exiting right under the cab. Sounds like a leak IMO. The easiest way to check is to crawl under your truck with the engine running (preferably cold so the pipes won't burn you) and listen to see if you can hear a "pss, psss, psss" sound.Or you can run your hands around where the pipes are welded together and see if you can feel it leaking.

how long ago did you get the exhaust. mine smelled a lil bit for a few days until the pipes & muffler were "broke in" its dumped right behind the cab. after a few days, it went away....

mine smelled goofy too for a few days, and it is dumped about 3-4 INCHES past the cab. no exhaust smell for the most part, just every once in a while with the wind going the right direction

You say it is a new exhaust? There are oils on and in the new pipes, you might be smelling the oils burning off!

Only times I smelled fumes was when the collectors start leaking bad on the headers.
