here is what magnaflow says
Well if the cats are melted there is something wrong with your car. Your
AFR is to rich, therefore dumping raw fuel into the cat and melting it
down. Our cats don't just melt for no reason.
like i said i do know it was rich but not for that long , whatever i dont think i will buy another set of these though.

my .02 I have ran horrid rich afr's on my blazer x with the turbo before 9:1 full passes down the track though a 3 inch cat.. and it didn't look anything like that and my turbo setup on there had 1400 deg EGT's at times.. I ran that thing 30 k miles and took the exhaust down and it looked perfectly fine.. still flowed and sounded great.. what was it?
A " catco high flow cat" it was like 120 bucks or something like that and I beat the snot out of it and never saw that.. sounds to me like magnaflow is back pedaling..

Where is Moregrip at on this thread? I know he has seen it and his buddy works for Magnaflow. That cat isnt melted its just turned into a pile of ****, I melted a set of the old style magnaflow hiflo cats(like 2.5 years ago design) and the inside looked like it had a hole through and the screen stuff was melted together not pushed over like yours. I was told the same thing as you about running rich which I took as a learning experience but those look like a faulty part not an error on your part. It really aggrivates me when companies dont stand behind their shitty product

Damn dude, that doesn't look to good. And it didn't throw a code?! I've had some Catco's high flows on my old truck, and I DID feel the difference. Maybe you should try a set of those.
