Default those with TBSS intakes

a recent thread on the TBSS site has brought to light that there are 2 different manifold's.An early model has smaller port openings than the current one,and the current ones have port openings that are bigger than the port in the head.
Now to the good part.LS2 PortWorks has ported both of these manifolds and they both have been dynoed on a tbss.the "early intake" gained 23hp and 20tq.The "current intake" gained 14hpand 15tq.
The mods are-
IEatSRT8 Intake
Stock Cam,
power bond pulley
SLP headers
C6 Efan
3000 Stall and RPM trans
Trans Cooler
160 thermostat
The prices are $600 with no core and $460 with core. Here is the thread that talks about this.
http://www.tbssowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23623
I hope this info can help some of you guys with these intakes or are thinking about going to one of these.

I didn't go through the whole thread, but IIRC, there's more than one TBSS intake, and one is better than the other...is that correct?

the first one they ported had smaller runners than the other one so in theory the other one would make more power than the small port one stock vs. stock. The specs are listed in that thread for the different runners. So far the smaller runnered ones were only on the early 06's
Also dont forget these gains would be on top of what you gain from putting a stock one on a 5.3/6.0

i wonder what corey could do to the 4.8/5.3 2 piece intake

I'd love to get one but untill someone does a full write-up on how to do the swap I have no hope in getting it to work.

there's a few that have already done it . . . just use the search.

but since you already have an 02 . . . get a 90 cable TB, and the early style vette filter . . .
