Default ? For those who have Flexalite 280 fans

I was just wondering where do you tap the two wires that are for the A/C control into
seems to me that my mechanic has them in the wrong place i think because when i put a meter on the two wire i get 12vs or so when the A/C isn't even on. I shouldn't see any Voltage when the a/c isn't on ?
with the wires connected into the controller the fans come right on without the a/c even on
Maybe a picture might help me out on where to splice the two wires in
Also can i run my a/c without the two leads connected in the fan controller?
thanks

jim

The AC wires are on compressor on the front bottom left of the engine accessories. From the front of the truck you can reach down there, it is tight, but you can unplug them and the reach from under the truck and pull the wires down and do your splices (or maybe you can follow the wire up to the engine compartment but I just spliced it by the plug.) The ground is black, I think the +12v is green if I remember correctly.

Cash dude do you have Flex fans ?
if so i was wondering if you could put a volt meter on the two splices to see if there should be any voltage when the A/c is off ?
I'm thinking that my dumbass mechanic got the wrong wires for some reason ..i don't wanna blow the controller up

I have LS1 fans but I used a Hayden relay and wire harness, which should be basically the same as yours. With the AC off it should be about 0 volts and with it on it should be like 12 or 13 volts. Your mechanic may have done it wrong. But if you have the defroster or recirculate air on, your compressor may be running anyway which would trigger the fans. I eventually made mine to where they run all the time anyway. If you need a pic of where the wires are then post or PM me your email and I will send you one.
