Default Thoughts on the Lingenfelter GT2 Cam?

Has anyone used this? What are your thoughts on it for a 5.3, 3.42?

I think you're looking at the wrong one:

205/212-540/540

Car craft magazine did a build up on a aluminum SSR 5.3 with headers, roller rockers and the Lingenfelter GT1-1 cam, and they made 100 hp over stock, pretty damn nice if ya aske me, i'd rather do that than spray my truck, the cam is always there, and is less strain on the motor. the only thing is the drivability question, it's a decent size cam at: 229/242 -- 631/631---114.5

The camshaft gave up alot of acceleration. Didn't it loose near 50 ft lbs @ lower rpms.

Well that is the thing...drivability is king with me. I want to see what I would run with a mild cam, trailblazer TC, Nelson dual octane tune, and headers. I would possibly also go with a set of mild heads, maybe patriot stage I's or just porting my own heads. I think I could maintain almost stock drivability, durability, and also get good mileage.

Yeah it lost between 20 to 50 lb/ft between 2,000 rpm and 2,800, but from there on, it pretty much made same or more till about 4,400 it really woke up gaining from 15 to 92 more lb/ft, and if you think about which RPM range you spend most of your time, 2k-2,800 ain't it, most people leave on the stall at around there, and between shifts never get that low anyways, so i would sacrifice the really low to get more top end pull, now for towing, this cam would be terrible, but if you were to shift around 6,000, you make 92 extra lb/ft with this one, and would deffinetely feel the difference. Hell, i wouldn't even waste the money on the headers like they did, and i would use that for a converter, a CAI, and a muffler, since they are engine dynoing they don't have stock air box restrictions, or stock exhaust. i wouldn't even do a catback, just the muffler, probably a magnaflow or most likely a spintech, and some tires, and actually be better off dollar wise.

According to the Yelo thread, it should be really streetable. I've already got a 3" single cat back system, an FIPK, Transgo + vette servo, so I think a mild cam, trailblazer TC, mild heads, and headers would really wake that thing up.
