Default throttle boby mods

what can you do to 5.3 throttle body to improve performance beside getting a bigger one

not to much other than port and polish it. Do a search there is a write up in here somewhere on it. If I remember right it was Farmer beaus.

throttle body bypass(questionable)
bumpstop mod(questionable)

i have all 3 done to my truck and cant really tell a difference but i guess the little **** adds up?

You grind down the bumpstop tab so that your TPS voltage is perfect. I cant remember the exact voltage anymore because its been 5yrs since I did it but I remember it either being 3.7v or 4.7v or something lol.

dont do the bumpstop unless you know exactly what your doing.. most people (like me) grind it down not knowing where to stop at and you end up with long term tps problems and have to get another tb... but maybe that is just me, lol

Ported throttle bodies have been shown to provide 7-9 HP/TQ at peak with gains of 2-3 all across the board. GM High Tech Performance showed the differences of the TPIS ported 90mm and ported 75mm throttle bodies back in the March 2006 issue.

Of course, everything varies with the truck intake and supporting mods...

I started a how to a while back also... Ported TB thread.

I'm also getting 1-2 better MPG!

I question the ported tb gains. I do not see how something that you are not increasing the ID size of can show any gains. "Smoothing" or "Polishing" of a factory TB is useless until proven other wise (in a controlled enviornment).
