so i could just take the intake hose and output hose off the throttle body and connect those 2 hoses together to bypass it? why would they have this mod since the coolant temps would probably be higher than the air temps

Why was it there? To eliminate the chance of the throttle body icing up in cold weather. A northern member of one of the Avalanche boards had that happen after doing the by-pass.
Some guys have even put little shut off valves in the hose. Open it in winter and close it in summer in a matter of seconds with no tools.

Touching the TB before and after the mod there was a huge difference in temp. Only thing I wonder is did the heat of the TB actually have time to heat up the incoming air enough to cause a HP loss?
I've also heard some of the fbody guys rig up a container with a pump that circulates cold water around the TB and claim that they have seen gains of .1 to .2 seconds in the 1/4 in hot weather.

that whole pump container thing seems like it would work but it also seems like alot of work, not many people expect good times from the heat anyways and in good weather it probably wouldnt help, you'd think that if the cold water had time to cool the air down, the hot coolant would have time to heat it up but iguess the cold water thing would be good if you are down the the nickel and dimes when it comes to parts you have left to install and mod ideas

there is alot of white and i dont know why, just keep scrolling only 3 pics
first pic white arrow is the tube, yellow arrow it where the tube connects to the TB
second pic white is the tube, yellow is where it conected to the block
third pic this shows how i ran the tube under the TB and hooked it to the block,
i didnt use anything i just took it off th TB and hooked it to the block
whats the point of a free mod if you have to pay.
