Default Throttle Body Sticking

As the subject says; my throttle body is sticking. So the best way to fix it rather than cleaning it it to replace it. Now the part number for the big bore TB is the same as the F-body but $400 is too much to pay for 10HP. None of our sponsors (that I saw) sell bored TB any idea on were I can get a bored TB for say $150? otherwise I'll just have to clean it.

Anyone else have any problems with sticking throttle bodys?

Mine used to stick real bad, then I took it to the dealership and they cleaned it for around $100-150. It was under warranty then.

if any or you are planning on actually paying for another throttle body, don't. there is a service bulletin on some of them (check the dealer) for replacement because of that.

I had my first one replaced with the TSB. About a month ago it started doing it again. Got a $2 can of carb cleaner, hosed it down real good, wiped it out and wha-la... no more sticking TB. Now that the EGR is gone it shouldn't get as dirty now.

There is a new bulletin that says to adjust the throttle body stop using a scan tool to monitor it. It replaces the bulletin that was replacing the throttle body. Is the dealer doing the bumpstop mod to correct the sticking by moving the blade a little? I dont know but I could check at work tomorrow.

worst case senario, take out the butterfly and LIGHTLY, i mean LIGHTLY sand the edge all the way around. i'd still take it back to the dealer.

couldn't you get away with grinding the inside of the TB? wasn't this mod on the "free mod list" that was posted a little while back? i am guessing that you could solve the TB sticking problem along w/ increasing HP

Mine was sticking a while back, but that was because of carbon build up between the bore of the throttle body and the throttle blade. I took it off and sprayed it with some carb cleaner and wiped all that crap off, now its back to normal. If the dealer is replacing them well then go for it
